Oh my gosh!!! This is an amazing playset. My kids have a big age gap (9 years) and both love playing on it. Heck, we love to play with them on it. Its so mucn fun for climbing, hanging out, or imagation based play. Excellent design with quality materials. So happy we got one. We already are getting add ons.

The videos and paper instructions were poor and could use some clarifying and updating, but we are happy with the end result.

Let me begin by saying my kids have not stopped swinging on the Bijou since we assembled it two weeks ago. They LOVE it. It took my husband and father 5 hours to assemble the mainstay and sway arm. The instructions provided with the product are inconsistent with the assembly video online which caused some confusion. It is also fairly difficult to mow under and I end up having to hand trim around each leg of the mainstay when I am done mowing. Was it worth the price? I think so because of my kids love for it. As a parent though, it’s a four star product for those reasons.

The set we got was a perfect piece to add some magic to our backyard garden. My five year old book loving grandson finds it to be a comfy nook for relaxing with his books and stuffies. The build was easy and the kit very sturdy.

The materials feel high quality and tough. It did take waaaayyyyy longer than expected. We had to take breaks for lunch and a snack in the afternoon. So plan for a day of building. If you have more handy people helping, it will probably go fast. The graphics (especially for the straps) need to be reworked because they are not helpful. The videos were critical in understanding how to put in the straps.
Once it was done it was perfect. We all felt a sense of joy. It's a great product and we are all enjoying it!

We set up our Bijou Mainstay and Sway swings a couple of weeks ago, and the kids have logged hours and hours of play already. I love how adaptable it is to grow with them. We did have a harder time installing than expected (took about 8 hours) because the instructions did not provide enough detail about exactly what order to do things in or exactly how far out the wood should extend. We found that one panel had some holes that did not match up to its neighbor after we were already vertical, so I had to take all the panels off and move them around, so now we have a zipper door that does not have enough slack to zip closed, and it looks bunchier and less professional than it should. Also, we bought a pocket accessory that fell apart on the first day and no longer works as a pocket. I'm hoping everything else will be more sturdy and we will be able to use it for years to come!

Where can I use my Bijou Build?
Just about anywhere! It’s an outdoor play structure, but you can use it in the backyard, at the grandparent’s, the lake house and more. We do recommend a relatively flat and soft surface, so the Bijou is safely staked to the ground and the kids can play to their heart’s content.
How hard is it to setup?
It’s easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Your initial assembly takes just under an hour with two adults. After that, whenever you want to Bijou, just pop it open, stake it to the ground, and get playing in just a few minutes.

What do I need to get started?
You need a Bijou Mainstay from us, which comes with all the hardware, panels, hinged bracket etc... and then you need 10ft long 2x4's from your local hardware store. If you order the wood with your Bijou, we will arrange for it to be sent from your local Lowes or Home Depot. We designed Bijou to use standard construction grade lumber that you can find locally. No fancy cuts needed, just 10ft length pressure treated 2x4's right off the shelf.
You will also need an 8ft step ladder and a drill to assemble the Bijou with the included wood screws and a power drill.
With that, you’re ready to get started. Assembly time with 2 adults is approx. 1 hour
Is the Bijou Build safe?

How long does it last?
Years and years! Our fabric panels have been tested for a variety of climates and extended use and abuse scenarios. Plus, your pressure treated wood stands up to the elements and, well, kids. We want your family to use your Bijou and make memories for years to come.
Does Bijou material hold water?
No! it does not. We purposely designed the panels to be as permeable as possible while still providing UV protection and shade. Bijou doesn’t hold water or wind so it is more sturdy and stable.
If your Bijou does ever get marred, simply spray down with soap of your choice and water and give a bit of a scrub with a brush. Similar to outdoor cushions, etc.
Does it come with wood?
YES! You have the option to order with wood or without. It couldn't be more simple!

How long is shipping?
Bijou will ship from Chicago, IL within 1-3 days once you place your order via FedEx.
Wood will ship from your closes Lowes or Home Depot and will arrive within 2-5 days of your order being placed.
