Mainstay Wood is available to purchase as an add-on. Bijou uses standard construction grade pressure treated 2×4s available at your local hardware store. Bijou doesn't require ANY special cuts and uses standard length wood at 10ft, so you can grab it right off the shelf.

Ordered on May 9 with prompt confirmation, but no shipping update. When I inquired on May 14, they said they were processing March/April orders but would prioritize mine. It shipped quickly and arrived May 16. Installation was easy, and it was ready by May 18. However, a black ring on the climbing panel broke immediately. Customer service promised a replacement 'as soon as possible,' but after two weeks of no updates and no response to follow-ups, I'm still waiting.
Our son was so excited for this Mainstay and Sway. It was his only birthday present (turned 4). We built it up big since it was a splurge item but we felt good that it was a quality item and we try to support small businesses.
Fast forward to the lack of transparency of using AI to answer emails and then the shipment coming in two separate packages (which was fine except we didn’t receive any shipping update that it was coming in two and didn’t receive a second tracking number, so we had to reach out again for it). It had been a rough go, but we were super excited when the remainder (or so we thought) of the package arrived on Friday. We centered our weekend around building it and continued to build up our son’s excitement for the swing set.
Well, the Mainstay is great. Seems like good quality off the bat and we love that we can take it down, move it, etc. with ease.
Our frustration and disappointment came when we realized we were missing the entire hardware kit of the “sway” kit. We initially received the two seats (nothing else in those boxes) and then the second, which we assumed would be everything ended up only being the hardware for the Mainstay.
While I understand it was a holiday weekend, I expect as a customer for this to be addressed the first day back in office. I have worked as a buyer and planner at vertical retailers and department stores including small businesses of the same volume as Bijou. I understand exactly what I should expect as far as customer service and this isn’t it.
Hoping to receive the remaining portion of the Sway, but I’m not confident I will to be honest.
So overall, it seems like good quality off the bat. Interested to see how it holds up over time, but I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my close friends or family due to the overall headache that has been our experience.
The Bijou Build is such a clever design!! Our family loves the playability, modularity and versatility and I can already see how this playscape will grow with our kids (currently 2 and 6). I like that I can be comfortable in the structure too and I love the look as well. Since I've convinced friends to purchase, I've set now set up four Mainstays, a rope bridge and a swing arm. (Note -- while I still think it's generally easy to set up, it definitely takes longer than stated -- maybe 2-2.5 hours per mainstay). Still worth every minute!
We’re a military family and having a portable, durable playset is a must. We decided to buy the Big Bijou as our first Bijou Purchase and we couldn’t be happier. We have a 1.5 year old and a 3 year old. Both of them have ENDLESS fun! Highly recommend for everyone, but specially for Military Families. Easy up, Easy down and the Movers actually pack it!
This thing is amazing! We got the two tents,⛺️ bridge and swing set. AMAZING! We added the giant swing in the one tent.. that was more for me! The kids LOVE it, nieces and nephews too!

Where can I use my Bijou Build?
Just about anywhere! It’s an outdoor play structure, but you can use it in the backyard, at the grandparent’s, the lake house and more. We do recommend a relatively flat and soft surface, so the Bijou is safely staked to the ground and the kids can play to their heart’s content.
How hard is it to setup?
It’s easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Your initial assembly takes just under an hour with two adults. After that, whenever you want to Bijou, just pop it open, stake it to the ground, and get playing in just a few minutes.

What do I need to get started?
You need a Bijou Mainstay from us, which comes with all the hardware, panels, hinged bracket etc... and then you need 10ft long 2x4's from your local hardware store. If you order the wood with your Bijou, we will arrange for it to be sent from your local Lowes or Home Depot. We designed Bijou to use standard construction grade lumber that you can find locally. No fancy cuts needed, just 10ft length pressure treated 2x4's right off the shelf.
You will also need an 8ft step ladder and a drill to assemble the Bijou with the included wood screws and a power drill.
With that, you’re ready to get started. Assembly time with 2 adults is approx. 1 hour

Who is the Bijou Build for?

How long does it last?
Years and years! Our fabric panels have been tested for a variety of climates and extended use and abuse scenarios. Plus, your pressure treated wood stands up to the elements and, well, kids. We want your family to use your Bijou and make memories for years to come.
Does Bijou material hold water?
No! it does not. We purposely designed the panels to be as permeable as possible while still providing UV protection and shade. Bijou doesn’t hold water or wind so it is more sturdy and stable.
If your Bijou does ever get marred, simply spray down with soap of your choice and water and give a bit of a scrub with a brush. Similar to outdoor cushions, etc.
Does it come with wood?
YES! You have the option to order with wood or without. It couldn't be more simple!

Pressure treated wood made after 2003 uses a non toxic treatment that is safe for children and pets.

You can sand and add the finish to the wood to customize your Bijou.
How long is shipping?
Bijou will ship from Chicago, IL within 1-3 days once you place your order via FedEx.
Wood will ship from your closes Lowes or Home Depot and will arrive within 2-5 days of your order being placed.
