Yes. The Mainstay is designed for long-term use, not one short phase. It can be reconfigured and repurposed as your child grows, from toddler years through older kids and even beyond traditional play uses.
Can I add pieces later?
Yes. Bijou Build is modular, so you can start with the Mainstay and add accessories or expand your setup over time. Their FAQ says the system is designed to grow with your family and be repurposed as kids move through different stages.
How long will it last?
Bijou Build products are made for year-round outdoor play and come with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. The materials are water resistant, UV protected, breathable, and tested against weathering.
Does it work in smaller yards?
Yes, depending on the setup. Bijou Build offers configurations that can work without stakes, and for smaller spaces some customers use shorter wood lengths for certain add-ons, such as an 8ft swing arm instead of the standard 10ft length.
How hard is setup?
Bijou says setup is simpler and less time-consuming than a traditional playset. It comes with instructions and assembly videos, and they say each Mainstay should take around 1-2 hours to assemble when following the instructions.
Does it come with wood?
You can choose either "with wood" or "without wood" on the product page. If you choose "with wood," Bijou places a delivery order from your local Lowe's, Home Depot, or lumber yard, so the wood arrives separately.
Are these safety tested?
Yes. Bijou Build says its products meet or exceed US safety standards for children's products and outdoor play equipment, including ASTM F963, ASTM F1148, EN71-1, and EN71-8.
